The Final Task: Murphey

Image
This is the final version of the task. My group and I have worked hard throughout these past few months in order to create a good film. We went through several different drafts and made multiple changes to the project. After all of our work this is the end result     I am excited to show off the final version of the film to my family members and friends. I am proud of me and my group for creating an entertaining film.      The creation of this film has inspired me to continue working hard to pursue my passions. I can't wait to work hard in the future and create movies for people around the world to enjoy. This project is just one step in the long journey I have ahead of me. My future career in the film industry is looking bright.      I hope that whoever watches this film has a good time and enjoys it. I hope they look forward to the future films and projects that I will work on.

Final Thoughts on the Project

My group and I finished our editing and we sent them again to be reviewed by friends and family. I sent them back to my group of friends in order to get their opinion on the film one last time. They didn't respond until about an hour later giving their input. They said that the film looked much better from before. They said it looked good and that they couldn't think of any other improvement areas. I thanked them for their help and sent what they said to my group.     We got on a group chat call and discussed what each person had said. Every person we asked had the same reaction to the film saying it looked good and there wasn't much to change. The only minor change that needed to be made was the video quality. The quality that we exported in was too high to upload online. We needed to go back to a computer and open the film up in Adobe Media Encoder in order to export it in another file type. The issue was a simple change that didn't take too long. After that chang

The Finishing Touches on The Final Project

Image
A few days ago we did the first half of our changes to the film. Today we are going to finish the edits and make anymore changes. The main focus of todays edits was the music and audio.     After school I met up with my teammate Rashawn again in order to make the final changes needed for our project. Rashawn had came prepared and had already redesigned the audio that will be used in the film. All we had to do was put it into the editing software and remove the original soundtrack.      While in the process of adding in the audio we encountered an issue. The audio quality in the film was a lot lower quality compared to the original work. I suggested that maybe when putting it into Premiere Pro it was being played at a lower quality in order to reduce the file size.     Rashawn and I looked into the issue further and found that there was an option to export the file at the regular quality instead of the the lower quality. This issue had a relatively simple solution and I am very ha

Editing the Film Based on the Critiques

My group and I gathered all of our recommendations and critiques for the film into a google doc. In the doc we summarized the changes that we should make for the film. The most important change that we need to make is the look of the movie.      I met up with Rashawn after school to work on the project. Our goal for today's work on the project was to change the overall look of the film. The original filter on the film was meant to make the situation feel more tense. It is used often in other films to make the setting feel almost darker.      I suggested that maybe it was just the fact that the filter was too much. The effect looked good in other professional movies. But when we used it, it felt almost overpowering and too much. Rashawn and I changed the filter in Adobe Premiere Pro. With Premiere Pro there is an option for visual effects to change the opacity, color, and even saturation. Using these we changed the each individual shot in order to make it still have our intended

Reviewing the Film

Me and my group worked over the weekend and edited and created a draft of our movie. We made this in order to show other people and get their unbiased opinion on the film. We each split up after editing and went to different people we knew in order to get their opinion on the film and what we should change.       I decided that I would show my video to a few of my friends from middle school to hear their opinion. I sent them a message over social media and they responded after about an hour of waiting. They said that they would love to review my movie in order to help with the project. I sent them the file and I patiently waited for their response.      20 minutes later and they sent a message to me with their criticism. One of the bigger criticisms they had with the film was the music didn't feel like it fit with the movie. They said that the almost rock genre music doesn't feel like it fits with the situation being shown.     Another criticism they gave was the grainy fil

Filming the Last Shots

Today my group and I had our final day of filming. I met up with my team members after school and we took the bus to Rashawn's house. When we arrived we went to his room and discussed the plan for the day. It was decided that we would follow our original storyboard and improvise if we needed to. I carried the equipment and we made our way to a park near Rashawn's house.     The park was the main location for filming. I would still play the main role of James, Rashawn was Kofi, and Hadar was the DE Agent. The first few shots were simple. I acted out the scene of James meeting Kofi at the park.       An issue that we experienced during the filming was the camera. I worked with Rashawn to set up the camera angles. The tripod that we had wasn't working correctly and fell over a few times. The camera ran out of battery after a few takes and we had to improvise. I took out my phone and we used it for filming.      Using my phone we were able to get the last shots we needed
