A Change of Plans - Beginning the Filming Process

Image
Today was the first filming session for my commercial for Nike. I brought with me the Nike tennis shoes and my phone to record shots.  When I first started the filming session I went out to that Track Field in order to get some shots. When I got to the track field it was very hot outside. After setting up the camera I felt like I was about to melt from the heat. I decided to use my backup plan and go to the back stairs of building 5. Although it wasn't my original plan the backup plan worked out great. I got a few shots of me going up and down the stairs. I also got a closeup of the shoes to have as a first clip.  My plan is to look through the clips that I have and prepare for day 2. I need to check what shots I need and which shots I should retake. On day 2 I will be going back to the stairs in order to retake shots. Another thing I need to do on day 2 is get more closeups and shots of showing off the shoes. Because the shoes are such a huge part of the commercial it is critical

First Scene - The opening scene fades from black and shows a close up of the sneakers in the grass. The Nike logo faces towards the camera. The camera slowly begins to pan towards the left. The audio is dead silent. Second Scene - The camera reveals that we are in an open soccer field. The camera stops when the goal is centered in the shot. The camera angle changes and shows a closer look at the goal. Slowly the audio begins to build up with crowds cheering. Third Scene - The camera switches to show a close up of the person wearing the Nike Sneakers. A look of determination is on their face. The audio is still building, but the crowd is louder than the music. Fourth Scene - The camera tilts downwards and reveals a soccer ball. The person backs up getting ready to take a shot at the goal. The audio of the crowd is much more evident at this point. When the athlete kicks the ball the audio cuts to add dramatic effect to the scene. Fifth Scene - The athlete scores a goal and the crowd che

For the Nike commercial my plan is to take inspiration from the Nike commercials. I plan on getting footage from people just using Nike products. Showing off Nike shoes and clothing in action is going to be the main focus of the advertisement. Another thing I can show in the advertisement is close ups of the actors. In most Nike commercials there are shots that show a closer look at the expressions and sweat of the actor.     One thing I will need for sure is Nike products. Nike shoes and clothing will be the main focus of the advertisement so it is very important to have Nike products. I can also bring sports equipment to show Nike shoes in action. I could possible bring a soccer ball, and have the actors score goals.     For the location of filming I can film on the Track Field. The Track Field is a perfect spot to show Nike Products being used during sporting events. Another option for a location can be the soccer field. I can wide shots of students running in the grass. I coul

The product that I will be advertising for my project will be Nike. Nike is a shoe brand that creates sports shoes used for running and basketball. Over the years Nike has began creating more lines of clothing instead of just shoes.       Nike has created many advertisements before and have many creative ideas implemented. One common thing I found was their use of close ups and wide shots in commercials. Nike loves to show close ups of people to show their emotions. One of the most common emotions shown by these close ups is determination and passion. Wide shots are used all the time in Nike commercials because of they want to show their shoes in action. The wide shots normally show the actors running outside for long distances.       Another common thing shown is the Nike logo and Motto "Just Do It". The motto and logo is always shown at the end of the commercial. The logo and quote are so popular that when people see or hear it they instantly think of Nike.      Nike a

For the commercial project I am planning on finding other classmates that I can work on this project with. I am new to creating films and videos, so finding other classmates would be helpful. They can help to teach me about making films. If they are also new to making films then we can both learn and do research on how to do the project. After all two heads are better than one. It would also be much better to have another classmate so I don't have to do all of the work. If I were to work individually on the project I would have to create a storyboard, film, act, and edit the video. Other classmates working in my group can take those jobs so I won't have to do all the work.     I am planning on working as an editor for this project. This is because of my experience in using editing software. For example I could use adobe Premiere to edit clips of videos together. If the commercial has any still images I can take those images and edit them in Adobe Photoshop to make them look

Working with adobe Photoshop and Premiere has helped me find my passion for editing.     One  reason I am taking this class is so that I can have a future career in the film industry. It was always my dream as a child to work on creating films that would be on the big screen. Through this c
