Music Video CCR

1. How does your product use or challenge conventions And how does it represent social groups or issues?     The main convention that was displayed in the music video is the "jock". In the music video the story is about how the girlfriend is feeling depressed, because her boyfriend is ignoring her and not wanting to spend time with her. In the story the boyfriend is the jock convention. The boyfriend is considered the cool, popular character that is usually rude and mean to other characters. The boyfriend fits this description, because in the flashbacks he is kind to the girlfriend, but later changes and begins to ignore her.      The convention of the "jock" character also ties into the social issue of bullying. The jock is usually seen as a bully character in movies and tv shows. In the music video the boyfriend is shown actively leaving out the girlfriend and ignoring her and her messages.  2. How does your product engage with audiences and how would it be distri

The Music Video - The Final Results

Image
Today was the final day of the Music Video Project. Our team worked very hard, and the project looks great. Looking over the video again there are some small changes that should of been changed. But the small issues can't even compare with the rest of the video. My team and I did a great job of creating this music video. I am excited for the next projects that we do together. I can't wait to continue learning about the film production team and creating more works of art.

Final Edits to the Music Video

Image
Today was the last day of editing for the music video. I decided to work with my teammates and make some final edits. I watched the video a few times after the edits to see if there are any changes to be made. The video looked great so far. All of the changes made so far really made the video look great. There were a few minor mistakes to edit, but nonetheless it still looked great.      One big issue that I found was that the video was too short. It was under the 1 minute and 15 second limit. The video was around 1 minute. I had to edit some of the scenes in order to extend the length. During recording I used an option that would film in slow motion. The slow motion effect was used to better portray emotional scenes. I used an editing option called time ramping. This allowed me to make the slow-mo shot normal speed. With the slow motion removed I was able to reach the time limit.     The other issues were all much smaller. They didn't have a large effect on the final produc

Working on Editing the Video

Image
I originally was going to work on the editing of the music video on my own. But after talking with my team members we decided to work on it all together.       My group and I worked on editing the video again. We started working together during class in order to have more communication. We were making edits and changes in class, but we encountered an issue. We were working on Rashawn's laptop in order to make edits. His computer ran out of storage during our editing. This changed our plan, because we needed to work after school.      After school we went back to our homes, and began talking in our group chat. Rashawn was editing and making changes to the video during our conversation of what to do for edits. He sent videos and photos of the edits he was making. Hadar and I were reviewing his edits to see if he made any mistakes. Hadar and I pointed out a few. We also gave our ideas and inputs on possible changes and edits that could be made.     Rashawn has a lot of experienc

The Rough Outline for The Music Video

Image
Today I began editing the video. I decided to use Adobe Premiere for the editing for two reasons. The first was because I have experience with Adobe Products and I know how to use them. The second is because I personally believe that Adobe Premiere Pro has a good layout that works great with my editing style.      Using my phone I transferred all the clips my team and I recorded onto my computer.  I took all the clips from the first day of filming and put them into a folder on my computer. The file helps to keep everything organized. It also helps with transferring the clips at a much faster rate instead of doing them all individually.       I took all the clips and put them into Premiere Pro and began looking through and deciding which ones to use. Each scene was filmed once or twice so we could have options for editing. Some of the clips were tough to decide which ones to use, but others were much easier to decide.      After deciding what clips to use I began to combine them on

Filming at the Park

Image
Yesterday was the first day of filming. I went to a park with my teammates in order to begin filming. My teammates and I started by looking over the storyboard in order to remember what we needed to film. After looking over the storyboard we began filming our opening shots. There were a few takes that didn't end up good so we had to redo them several times. But eventually we found a method to create a good looking take that we could use for our shot.      I was the one in charge of most of the filming. But one issue showed up during the filming. My team members and I were all in shots. We needed to find a way to setup the camera for the takes. We tried setting up the shots on a bench or other things in the area. This plan worked for some of the shots, but other shots didn't turn out too good. One of my teammates had their sibling help out and hold the camera for us. Thanks to their help we were able to solve the issue and get some good shots.      Another issue that appea
