A Change of Plans - Beginning the Filming Process
Today was the first filming session for my commercial for Nike. I brought with me the Nike tennis shoes and my phone to record shots.
When I first started the filming session I went out to that Track Field in order to get some shots. When I got to the track field it was very hot outside. After setting up the camera I felt like I was about to melt from the heat. I decided to use my backup plan and go to the back stairs of building 5. Although it wasn't my original plan the backup plan worked out great. I got a few shots of me going up and down the stairs. I also got a closeup of the shoes to have as a first clip.
My plan is to look through the clips that I have and prepare for day 2. I need to check what shots I need and which shots I should retake. On day 2 I will be going back to the stairs in order to retake shots. Another thing I need to do on day 2 is get more closeups and shots of showing off the shoes. Because the shoes are such a huge part of the commercial it is critical that I have good footage of them.
Another option I can do is quickly put the videos into Adobe Premiere. I can use this to better decide what shots I need and what shots I need to retake. The edit is meant to just provide me a general idea of what I need. I don't plan on saving the video. This is because the shots I have may be replace with better ones from day 2.
There is still a lot more filming and shots that I should retake. So during day 2 I will be very busy.
