The Finishing Touches on The Final Project

A few days ago we did the first half of our changes to the film. Today we are going to finish the edits and make anymore changes. The main focus of todays edits was the music and audio.

After school I met up with my teammate Rashawn again in order to make the final changes needed for our project. Rashawn had came prepared and had already redesigned the audio that will be used in the film. All we had to do was put it into the editing software and remove the original soundtrack.

While in the process of adding in the audio we encountered an issue. The audio quality in the film was a lot lower quality compared to the original work. I suggested that maybe when putting it into Premiere Pro it was being played at a lower quality in order to reduce the file size.

Rashawn and I looked into the issue further and found that there was an option to export the file at the regular quality instead of the the lower quality. This issue had a relatively simple solution and I am very happy that we were able to fix it.

With the audio fixed we were able to begin making the final changes on the project. We started the final edits by watching the movie a few times. After watching 3 or 4 times we moved on and discussed any changes that could be made.

We both agreed that the audio for the dialogue was a lot quieter than everything else. From here we had to options to fix this issue. We could either record and add voice-overs to make the dialogue louder. Or we could lower the volume on the song and ambient sounds.

The voice-overs would make the audio quality sound more clear and louder; however, we didn't have time to go to Rashawn's place and record. The only option we had was to lower the audio for the music and ambience. This is a simple and quick fix, but the drawback is that the overall audio is going to be much quieter.

After working for nearly 3 hours the editing process is finished. The next step is to get a few last minute suggestions for changes and then finish the project.
