1. How many titles are displayed during the opening sequences to the film? Which ones?

5 Titles were displayed during the opening sequence of the film. The titles showed the production companies Particular Crowd and Headlong Entertainment, the distribution company MarVista Entertainment, and the title of the film "Sightless"

2. What connotations do the images carry? (How do they make you feel)

It made me feel like something was about to happen. The titles were void of color and it made me feel as if something was about to suddenly happen. It left me on the edge of my seat waiting.

3. How is genre reinforced through symbolic and technical codes from the outset? (Can you tell what genre the film is)

The genre is heavily reinforced. There is no music only a very quiet deep bass sound and crude stringing of a violin. It creates a very tense and suspenseful ambience. The text color was white on a black background. This is related to the main characters lack of vision, and also follows the common theme of dark colors in thriller films.

4. What conventions are used to ensure the film appeals to its target audience?

The lack of sound and color in the title sequence creates an eerie feeling as if something was about to suddenly happen. It appeals to their target audience of thriller film enjoyers, because the title credits create a sense of suspense as if something is going to happen in the blink of an eye.
