Other Info for Filming

 

  • Location: The locations for this project are a house, a sidewalk, a school.
  • Participants: The participants of this project are Rashawn Granderson, Constantine Feicket, and Hadar Kotzer.
  • Health: We have a first aid kit and over-the-counter medicine. Rashawn’s mother has experience in the medical field, so if anything happens we will be prepared.
  • Schedule: The dates that we are planning to film are March 6th, March 13th, and March 20th. That would give us 3 blogs for filming and we would do editing and other things throughout those time periods.
  • Backup Plan: If it were to rain, we could use an umbrella, or film in the house. If one of the participants cannot come, we will film what we can without them, or edit the clips we already have.

     My group and I decided that for our project we are going to create our own music. One of the most important steps to creating our own music is deciding the genre. I have a few ideas for what would be good choices for my groups film. Hip-Hop The first few scenes show the main character going through his daily life. The main character is a young male high school student. A popular genre that is often used is hip-hop music to show a montage of a teenagers life. Hip-hop provides an upbeat tone that can help comedic moments showing the main characters bad luck. Pop Music Pop is another classic genre used to show a young characters day to day life. Pop is very similar to hip-hop music with its effect on the reader. Pop could be a better choice over hip-hop due to the popularity of the genre. Incidental Music

     My group finished its first day of filming on Sunday. We filmed the first 2 scenes of the movie and are planning on meeting up again sometime soon to get the final shots. After the filming session Rashawn messaged me and asked if I wanted to work on more music with him for the film. The soundtrack was already created for the film, but Rashawn had another idea. He suggested that I help him work on the incidental music.      The incidental music would help to tie the scenes together and possibly create a better ambience. Using the incidental music would help to amplify the ambient sounds of cars passing by on the side of the road. I agreed to call Rashawn and talk about what we can create.      Rashawn and I discussed each shot and the possible options that we had available. Group Blog

    For the commercial project I am planning on finding other classmates that I can work on this project with. I am new to creating films and videos, so finding other classmates would be helpful. They can help to teach me about making films. If they are also new to making films then we can both learn and do research on how to do the project. After all two heads are better than one. It would also be much better to have another classmate so I don't have to do all of the work. If I were to work individually on the project I would have to create a storyboard, film, act, and edit the video. Other classmates working in my group can take those jobs so I won't have to do all the work.     I am planning on working as an editor for this project. This is because of my experience in using editing software. For example I could use adobe Premiere to edit clips of videos together.
