Today was my second day of filming for my Nike Commercial. I was supposed to film on Friday last week, but unfortunately we had an unexpected schedule change. Although this unfortunate schedule change disrupted the time I was supposed to film, it wasn’t all negative. Using the extra time I was able to review my footage more thoroughly. I was able to create a better more precise plan for todays filming.

During the second day I had much more time available to me. On the first day I only had about 30-40 minutes before I had to return. But today I had almost a full hour to film. Using this extra time I could look at the shots I took on set. This helped me to decide if I needed to retake them or not.

When I got outside the classroom it was a perfect day. There was no unexpected weather changes and the sun provided good lighting. I went back to the same set of stairs from the first day of filming. When I arrived I immediately got to work setting up my phone and deciding what shots to take first.

My plan was to visual the scenes in my head. Using this visualization I was able to fully see what camera angles I should use and what I should be doing in the takes.

I started from the bottom of the stairs and made my way up. I filmed closeups of the shoes going up stairs. I did this by setting up my phone on the railing so it wouldn’t fall over.

Another take I did was a closeup of my face. Most Nike commercials show the after being determined or “ready to go”. My commercial is no different. I set up my phone and took a few shots of my face while putting on a determined face.

Overall the second day of filming went great. Now the final step of my commercial is to edit the clips together and make it look as professional as possible.
